Ms. Abbie Easter, a member of the ChronoPoints project, successfully defended her Honors Thesis titled “Preserving Our Past (PoP): Comparing Methods of Digitally Replicating Historical Artifacts.” Under Dr. Lori Walters’ supervision, Easter has examined the use of an Apple iPhone 13 Pro as an accessible and approachable way to capture 3D models of small artifacts. Such tools are essential to “democratize” 3D virtual object preservation, said Ms. Easter. Easter will graduate at the end of the summer.
