Unisphere

LOCATION: Flushing Meadows-Corona Park, Queens, New York
DATE: 2014
ABOUT THIS PROJECT
Designed by noted landscape architect Gilmore D. Clarke, the 120 ft. diameter Unisphere was the symbol of the 1964/65 New York World’s Fair. The Unisphere is comprised of more than 500 structural pieces that provide a relief map visualization. With its three orbital rings, the massive stainless steel structure celebrated the dawn of the Space-Age.
